Photographic collection includes negative images such as glass plate, nitrate, and paper negatives; published portfolios of pictures of New York street types, 1894, the Chicago Exposition, 1893, and the Pan American Exposition in Buffalo, 1901; loose photographs; family photo albums (not taken by Austen); also original negative envelopes with Austen's own notes; motion picture footage from 1929-35, 800 feet in black and white, 300 feet in color; and one of Austen's cameras.
